About Us

Glen

Glen’s story with H. Williams Jewellery began on James Street North in 1972, where he learned the craft under the mentorship of our founder, Mr. Ralph Travis. Guided by a deep passion for the trade and our community, Glen stepped into the role of President in 1995.

Under his leadership, H. Williams Jewellery grew to better serve our region—opening our Mountain location in 1998 and expanding to Eastgate Square in 2015.

While Glen remains our President for Life, these days you are most fortunate to catch him in the showrooms. When he isn't in-store, he is enjoying a well-deserved semi-retirement—spending quality time with his family at the cottage and boating across the lakes of Northern Ontario.

Mark

Mark joined the H. Williams staff as a full-time jeweller in 2008, although as Glen's son he was often at the store helping out for many years prior. He is now the manager of our James Street North location, and specializes in purchasing the beautiful pieces you've come to expect from H. Williams Jewellery. You may be familiar with Mark's voice, as he records all of our radio advertisements and often joins Darrin Laidman on air for contests and giveaways.

Tamara

Tamara joined our staff in the summer of 2017. She brings with her over 15 years of experience in sales and retail management. She came to us with great customer service skills, and is now a certified G.I.A. Diamond Grading Specialist. She is a vital part of the management team at our James Street North location.

Caillin

Caillin started with H. Williams Jewellery in 2010. He has graduated with degrees from Sheridan, Algonquin and Fleming Colleges. As a talented artist he brings an illustrative style to his paintings, which focus on local Hamilton architecture. Caillin is the in-house goldsmith at our James Street North location.

Alene

Alene joined the H. Williams team in 2009, although her introduction to the jewellery industry was in 2003 through a jewellery-making course at Mohawk College. In 2009, she graduated from George Brown College with a diploma in Jewellery Methods. Her education touched on many areas of the jewellery trade including manufacturing, repair, and gemology. Alene is a certified G.I.A. diamond essentials graduate.

Sheena

Sheena has worked at H. Williams Jewellery since 2008. She began as a student, polishing jewellery and cleaning around the store, then moving into a full-time role in August of 2010. She has completed a Graduate Jewellers Certificate with the Canadian Jewellers Association, as well as Diamond Grading with G.I.A. She is our digital operations strategist, developing advertising, keeping our website updated and striving to improve the online shopping experience.

Dan

Dan joined us at H. Williams after 3 years in the banking industry. He is currently a Manager of our Upper James Street location. He is a certified G.I.A. Diamond graduate and our luxury watch expert. He has become a skilled buyer, having a keen eye for upcoming jewellery trends. Dan's greatest asset is his attention to customer service, working one-on-one with his customers to help them select or design the perfect piece of jewellery. He is very attentive and is forthcoming with his knowledge of the industry.

Natalie

Natalie has been with H. Williams Jewellery since 2006, with over 20 years of experience in the service industry. She is a certified G.I.A. Diamond Grading Specialist. Natalie is the Assistant Manager at the Upper James location and also organizes our in-store customer social events. Natalie specializes in bridal jewellery and is especially talented in custom-designing the perfect engagement ring.

Agnes

Agnes has been with H.Williams since 1999. She is knowledgeable about every aspect of our jewellery. She is one of our most experienced sales associates and is our jewellery repair expert. Every incoming repair is inspected by Agnes, is forwarded to our jeweller, and is inspected by her again before it is returned to the customer.

Duke

Duke is our senior jeweller. He joined us full time in 2008, but has been doing repairs and custom work for H.Williams for over 20 years. He is skilled in every aspect of jewellery repair and manufacturing. After several years in the jewellery production sector, we were fortunate enough to have him join our team.

Renee

Renee joined the H. Williams Jewellery team in May 2014 and now manages our Eastgate Square location. She came to us with a solid background in retail sales and customer service. Renee has achieved certification in the G.I.A. Jewellery Essentials and Diamond Grading programs. Her favourite part of the job is seeing customers get excited over a new jewellery purchase or the restoration of an old piece. When she's not working, Renee makes the most of her free time by enjoying sports, hiking, and anything involving animals.

Szonja

Szonja joined the team at the Eastgate Square location in March of 2017. Born in Budapest, Hungary, she moved to Canada in 2010. She is fluent in both Hungarian and English. She comes to us with a background in retail and sales, and many years of experience in the jewellery industry. She loves all gemstone jewellery especially with the colour purple, and the unique charm of estate jewellery. Her favourite part of working for H. Williams is helping couples in love find the perfect ring for their story.

Dina

After taking time off to raise her family, Dina rejoined the workforce when we opened our Eastgate Square location. Her years of jewellery experience has helped make her a knowledgeable sales associate. Dina's insights into the store and the business make her an invaluable member of the H. Williams Jewellery team.

Carter

Since joining the company in March 2019, Carter has grown into an integral part of the organization through years of experience, learning, and increased responsibility. Now an assistant manager of our Eastgate Mall location, his role has evolved due to his computer skills and his problem-solving abilities. His skill with numbers, habitual Google Sheet organization and love for a challenge has helped improve efficiency throughout.
